Affiliate Marketing Simplified

I have been working with affiliate marketing for a few years now. I started out with the traditional methods of selling products on websites and selling ebooks, but over time I developed a better understanding of how affiliate marketing works. Today, I'm going to share some insights with you that will help you build your own business around this exciting industry.

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate's own marketing efforts. The industry has four core players: the merchant (also known as 'retailer' or 'brand'), the network (that contains offers for products/services), publishers (the affiliates who promote offers on their websites, social media channels and other places), and consumers (end users who are incentivized with incentives).

How Affiliate Marketing Works

The standard is to pay an original manufacturer (OEM) a percentage of sales from retailers who sell their products through an affiliate program.

Affiliate marketing has grown quickly over the past few years. In 2016, it was estimated that $32 billion would be spent on affiliate marketing worldwide by the end of 2021. As of July 2022, 16% of ALL online orders come from affiliate marketing efforts. Bloggers and review sites are the top earners in this affiliate marketing industry.

The market has grown in complexity, resulting in the emergence of a secondary tier of players, including affiliate management agencies, super-affiliates and specialized third party vendors.

Affiliate Marketing is a big online market.

There are more than 100,000 affiliates worldwide, and the industry is expected to reach $40 billion in 2025. It's growing rapidly and with good reason: the average affiliate earns $60,000 per year—a respectable figure for just four hours of work per week!

Another reason why affiliate marketing is so hot right now? It's global; you can make money from it regardless of where your audience lives or what language they speak. The internet didn't create borders; it broke them down by making it easy for people from all over the world to connect with each other using sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tiktok and YouTube. This means that anyone on Earth can advertise their products through affiliate marketing without needing any sort of physical presence in another country whatsoever!

Affiliate marketing with Google

Google Affiliate Network is a performance-based advertising program that allows publishers to earn revenue by displaying ads on their website. The Google affiliate network is a great way for you to promote products without having to create content yourself and drive traffic to the site.

You can set up your account by going to google.com/affiliates, then clicking Manage Accounts. From there, click “Join Now” and fill out the online application form with your personal information (name, mailing address, etc.) Once approved, you are able to select which products you wish to promote via Google's extensive catalog of over 2 million advertisers who have partnered with them in order provide high quality content across various industries such as health & beauty products; food & beverage items like coffee makers or wine glasses; electronics like laptops or televisions; apparel such as shoes or sunglasses from brands like Nike or Ray Ban just name a few examples!

Building an affiliate marketing business

The most important thing to remember is that affiliate marketing is a very different way of making money online.

Affiliate marketing works by letting others promote your products or services for you in exchange for a commission on each sale they make.

The keys to successful affiliate marketing via social media.

As a marketer, one of the best ways to make money is through affiliate marketing. This method allows you to promote products and services online without having to pay for advertising yourself.

You can do this by creating valuable content on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, which will attract followers that are interested in what you have to say. Once you’ve built up a following (or “audience”), use social media as an opportunity to promote your affiliate links. When someone clicks on one of these links and purchases something through it, the seller pays you a commission fee for bringing them customers. The more traffic that comes through those links, the more money they make!

Paid ads are another great way increase traffic and sales with your affiliate marketing campaign

Affiliate Marketing with Pinterest.

Pinterest is a visual platform, so it makes sense that people would use it to promote affiliate products. You can create boards with specific themes and pin images that relate to your niche. For example, if you're an affiliate marketer focused on home décor and lifestyle products, you might create boards titled "My Dream Home" or "My Favorite Things." Then, when someone comes across one of these boards on Pinterest and clicks on an image that catches their fancy, they'll be taken right to the product's landing page where they can purchase it through your link.

If you want to take things even further—and boost traffic from Pinterest by doing so—create an entire board dedicated solely to promoting a single offer from one merchant (for this example we'll say the merchant's name is Home Decor Planet). This will help ensure that all of their customers who find your board will be looking for exactly what you're offering them: more information about Home Decor Planet's latest offerings!

Affiliate marketing without a website.

Affiliate marketing without a website is pretty easy. Simply search for an affiliate program, choose a product, and get started. If you're new to affiliate marketing and don't have a website yet, this is an excellent opportunity to build your first one (or even multiple). You can use these sites to promote the products that you recommend in your content-based websites:

  • WordPress Hosting - WordPress hosting allows you to host multiple websites with one account at GoDaddy or Bluehost. If you already have a domain name (like www[insert domain here].com), then it's as simple as signing up for web hosting services from either company and uploading files from your computer onto the server where they live. You can also purchase domains through those companies if needed; however, it may be cheaper if purchased elsewhere first then transferred over via transfer request after the fact!

  • You can also create microsites like Stanstore and Pensight who offer very quick and easy setup and are very "affiliate marketer" friendly. It gives you all the tools of a full website without the chunky, clunky tech intensive environment. You can literally get set up and ready to collect emails and sell products within 15 minutes of signing up and bonus...you can also set up to their affiliate programs.

Affiliate marketing can be simple if you build it on a good foundation.
